August 24 Update

We’ve had a lovely bit of warm weather this week (though it’s currently raining today), fingers crossed we get a nice summer in August this year!

There are a few bits to update you on, including future meetings, a look back to the recent Playful Learning Conference and the dates for next year, some ways in which we can keep playful conversations going, and a request for members to take part in a podcast.

Our last in-person PLA meeting was in the North of England, we’re due to go “down South” for the next meeting… fingers crossed we’ll be coming to Bath! More details will hopefully follow soon. Following on from the November meet, the next two will be online in February, then up to Scotland next May – if you can volunteer to host in Scotland, then please get in touch with Katie / Andy – We need space, refreshments and a bit of catering for the start on a Thursday lunchtime – we sort out all the content 🙂

The conference was a success yet again. See this lovely write up from Lynn Pilkington – if you’ve written up something about the conference we’d love to share it too! There are also the conference tweets, or check out the Pedagodzilla podcasts to get a flavour of the conference. We hope lots of you will join us next year 2nd – 4th July in Brighton at the University of Sussex again.

Official conference photos are now online – do check them out and feel free to download and use in your work.

We used Discord during the conference and are keeping it going afterwards to enable ongoing conversations amongst our wider playful community. We need to work out the best way to invite people on board with it, but in the meantime, email Katie or Andy for an invite code.

Roger Saunders would love to get more playful learning people onto his L&T Chat Show podcast next season, give Roger a shout if you’re up for appearing in season 5! Or just check out some of his previous shows even if you’re not.
