Elrika Erasmus

Elrika Erasmus

Dr Elrika is a Counselling Psychologist (HCPC, BPS) and Coaching Psychologist with over 25 years’ experience spanning clinical practice, higher education, and leadership development. Originally trained in South Africa, where she graduated cum laude, she moved to the UK and spent nearly a decade working in central London at The Nightingale Hospital, supporting the mental health of inpatients, outpatients, and groups.

After moving out of London, her work expanded into coaching, alongside seven years of supporting students at two colleges at the University of Cambridge. She has since developed a portfolio career, working across clinical practice, executive coaching, and international consultancy, while completing her doctorate focused on playfulness in coaching psychology and supervision.

Her career reflects a sustained interest in how people think, adapt, and grow, particularly regarding their mental well-being. This has led her to explore playfulness as a serious tool for learning, reflection, and change, often developed and refined over a good cup of coffee. She is currently shaping these ideas into a book.
